2021 Audi A7 Wheel Interchange
OEM wheel/tire sizes and fitment specs for the 2021 Audi A7.
Goal
Choose wheels and tires that safely fit a 2021 Audi A7, then validate changes using the on-page calculator on wheelinterchange.com. We will work from known OEM data, call out constraints, and walk through practical checks before you buy.
Known OEM fitment snapshot
The values below are provided for at least one 2021 Audi A7 configuration. Packages vary by trim. Treat non-matching items as a sign to confirm your exact setup on the vehicle tire placard and with OEM sources.
| Parameter | Value | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Bolt pattern | 5x112 | Five lugs on 112 mm PCD |
| Center bore | 66.5 mm | Hub-centric size |
| Thread size | M14 x 1.5 | Confirm bolt seat type per wheel |
| Rim diameter | 18 in | Data shows 18 in rim |
| Rim width | 8.0 in | Bead-to-bead width |
| Wheel offset | ET 26 mm | Positive offset |
| Backspacing | 5.02 in | As provided |
| Tire size | 245/45R19 | This 19 in tire indicates another OEM package |
Assumption: multiple factory packages existed in 2021. That explains the 18 in wheel entry alongside a 19 in tire entry. Validation on your vehicle is recommended before selecting parts.
Prerequisites
- Check the driver door placard for your exact OEM wheel and tire size, load index, and speed rating.
- Note your current wheel markings inside the rim barrel for size and offset.
- Have candidate wheel and tire specs ready or a donor vehicle to compare.
- Tools for inspection and installation:
- Safety: jack stands, wheel chocks, and the factory jack kit if you test fit.
Step by step
1) Confirm your baseline
- Record the tire size from the door placard and your current wheels. If your placard shows 19 in while your wheel shows 18 in or vice versa, you are seeing package variation. Use the placard as the primary reference.
- Keep these fixed Audi values for 2021 A7 unless verified otherwise:
- Bolt pattern 5x112
- Center bore 66.5 mm
- Thread size M14 x 1.5
2) Open the calculator on wheelinterchange.com
- Set “Installed on” to 2021 Audi A7.
- Use either:
- “Wheels from” a donor vehicle you are considering, or
- Enter “Custom wheel size” and “Custom tire size.”
- Changing rim diameter updates tire diameter in the comparison. Watch the overall diameter change and the inner and outer clearance readouts.
3) Interpret the comparison
- Inner clearance: Reduced inner clearance increases risk of contact with struts, spring perches, and liners.
- Outer poke: Increased poke may approach the fender lip or bumper liner during compression and steering.
- Offset trade-off: Higher positive offset tucks the wheel inward. Lower positive offset pushes it outward. Width increases split half inward and half outward before offset changes are applied.
- Backspacing: The tool’s value reflects bead width and offset. Use it to gauge brake and knuckle clearance.
- Tire diameter: Keep overall diameter close to your baseline to preserve speedometer behavior and suspension geometry.
4) Hardware and hub fit
- Center bore: The A7 hub is 66.5 mm. Aftermarket wheels with a larger bore require hub-centric rings sized wheel bore to 66.5 mm.
- Mounting hardware: Thread is M14x1.5. Bolt length and seat profile must match the wheel design. If seat type is unknown, confirm with the wheel manufacturer before installation.
- Brake clearance: The calculator does not verify spoke-to-caliper shape. Ask for a brake clearance template or test fit.
5) Tire selection
- Match load index to at least the placard value. Do not downgrade.
- Speed rating should meet or exceed the placard unless your use case and local regulations allow otherwise.
- Use the calculator to see section width effects on inner and outer clearances.
Validation
- Use the calculator to compare your baseline to the candidate setup until clearances look safe within your constraints.
- Measure the car: With wheels removed, use a straightedge on the hub face and a ruler to check available space to the strut and liners at full lock.
- Test fit one wheel without the tire if possible. Verify hub seating, bolt engagement, and caliper clearance.
- After installation, torque wheel bolts to the Audi service manual specification in a star pattern. Re-torque after the first short drive and again after 50 to 100 miles.
- Road test at low speed. Listen for rubbing on turns and over bumps.
Troubleshooting
- Vibration at speed:
- Check that wheels are hub-centric to 66.5 mm using proper rings if the bore is larger.
