What Is a Go Redirect?
A Go Redirect, also called a /go/ redirect, is an internal link-handling endpoint. On WheelInterchange, it can sit between a product link on the site and the external affiliate destination.
Instead of sending a visitor directly to a retailer or affiliate URL, the site sends the request through an address such as /go/. The endpoint validates the requested product destination, logs the click for analytics, and then redirects the visitor to the external page.
A Go Redirect does not describe a wheel measurement, vehicle specification, or fitment condition. It is part of the website’s link and analytics system.
How the /go/ Redirect Works
The process generally has three stages:
- A visitor selects a product link. The link points to the site’s internal
/go/endpoint rather than directly to the external merchant. - The endpoint validates the destination. This helps ensure that the requested product or affiliate destination is an approved, properly formed link.
- The click is recorded and the visitor is redirected. After processing the request, the endpoint sends the browser to the external affiliate destination.
The redirect is normally quick and may be nearly invisible to the visitor. The final page remains the merchant or other external destination, while the internal request provides the site with a controlled point for link handling and click measurement.
Why Go Redirects Matter on WheelInterchange
WheelInterchange is primarily a reference site for wheel dimensions and vehicle compatibility, but some pages may also link to products such as wheels, tires, hub rings, spacers, or related hardware. A Go Redirect allows those outbound product links to be handled consistently.
It can help the site:
- Measure how often users select a product link.
- Confirm that a destination is a valid, supported affiliate link.
- Keep outbound-link handling separate from the visible page content.
- Update or manage approved destinations without exposing every external URL directly in page markup.
This tracking function does not establish that a product fits a particular target vehicle. A click through a /go/ URL should never be interpreted as a fitment decision such as Direct Fit, Fits With Hub Rings, Adapter Required, or Not Directly Compatible.
What a Go Redirect Does Not Do
A Go Redirect does not change the product’s specifications or make an incompatible wheel fit. It does not alter a wheel’s:
- Bolt pattern or PCD
- Center bore
- Wheel diameter or width
- Offset
- Tire dimensions
- Brake or suspension clearance
Fitment still needs to be checked using the actual product specifications and the target vehicle’s requirements. For example, a redirect to a wheel listing does not prove that the wheel’s bolt pattern, center bore, width, and offset match the vehicle.
Likewise, a product link reached through /go/ does not mean that a hub ring, spacer, or bolt-pattern adapter is included unless the product information explicitly says so.
Common Misunderstandings
It is not a wheel spacer or adapter
The word “redirect” refers to web navigation. A Go Redirect does not move a wheel outward, change PCD, reduce a center-bore mismatch, or convert one bolt pattern to another.
It is not a fitment guarantee
A tracked product click is an analytics event, not an approval of compatibility. Always compare the product’s dimensions and hardware requirements with the target vehicle before purchasing.
It is not the final merchant URL
The /go/ address is an internal intermediate endpoint. Its purpose is to process the link before the browser reaches the external affiliate destination.
What to Check Before Using a Product Link
Before relying on any linked wheel or hardware listing, verify the technical details independently:
- Wheel bolt pattern / PCD
- Center bore and whether hub rings are required
- Wheel diameter and width
- Offset and resulting clearance
- Lug-seat type and required hardware
- Brake, suspension, fender, and tire clearance
- Whether the listing is for the exact product and configuration described
The Go Redirect helps manage and measure the outbound link. It does not replace those fitment checks.
