What Is Wheel Interchange?
Wheel interchange describes the ability to mount a wheel designed for one vehicle onto a different make or model. Manufacturers frequently share chassis platforms, hub designs, and suspension geometry across multiple vehicles – which means a wheel built for one car can often bolt directly onto another without modification.
Key Specs That Determine Fitment2>- Bolt Pattern (PCD) – number of lug holes and the diameter of the circle they form.
- Center Bore – the hole diameter that centers the wheel on the hub.
- Offset – how far the wheel mounting face sits from the wheel centerline.
- Thread Size – lug bolt or stud thread pitch.
Our wheel interchange calculator compares all of these specs automatically across our database of vehicles.
