Step by step
1. Confirm your baseline
In the shop, I start with the vehicle itself. Read your current tire size from the sidewall and compare it to the driver door-jamb label. If they differ, treat the label as the OEM baseline and the mounted tire as a modification.
If you do not know your current wheel specs, look for markings on the wheel’s backpad or spoke channel. Typical format is diameter x width ET offset, for example 20x9 ET30. If markings are missing, measure width and use a straightedge to estimate backspacing, then use the calculator to reverse-solve offset. Record the bolt pattern, center bore, and thread size from the table above and validate in the owner’s manual or an Audi parts catalog using your VIN.
2. Set up the calculator on wheelinterchange.com
Open the on-page calculator. Under Installed on (your vehicle), select 2022 Audi S7. If the calculator shows a factory reference package, note it and keep it as the baseline for comparisons.
3. Enter the donor wheel
Under Wheels from (donor vehicle), enter the donor’s wheel specs or choose the donor vehicle if known. If the donor center bore is bigger than 66.5 mm, plan on hub-centric rings. If the donor bore is smaller than 66.5 mm, the wheel will not seat - do not force it.
4. Use Custom wheel size to fine tune
Adjust rim diameter, width, and offset in Custom wheel size to match the donor or the aftermarket option you are evaluating. Watch the calculator’s inner clearance and outer poke comparisons. The trade-off is simple: lower offset pushes the wheel outward and risks fender contact, higher offset pulls it inward and risks strut or liner contact.
5. Match the tire to the rim
Use Custom tire size to set section width and aspect ratio. The calculator updates overall tire diameter as you change rim diameter. Your constraint is keeping diameter change within your comfort and OEM limits for speedometer and clearance. If your baseline is 255/40R20 but you are evaluating a 19 inch wheel, the calculator will show how a 255/45R19 or similar option compares in diameter. Do not assume - validate changes against arch and liner clearance.
6. Check brake and spoke clearance
The S7 has large brakes. Spoke design matters as much as offset. If you have a template from the wheel maker, use it. If not, rely on the calculator for inner barrel clearance and plan a test fit to confirm spoke-to-caliper clearance.
7. Validate fasteners
Thread size is M14x1.5. Seat type must match the wheel seat profile. Many Audi OE wheels use ball seats, while many aftermarket wheels use cone seats. Compare the mating surfaces visually or consult the wheel maker. If you add spacers, ensure they are hub-centric and that bolt length provides adequate engagement. If the exact OEM engagement spec is unknown, target at least one bolt diameter of thread engagement as a conservative engineering assumption, then confirm in Audi service information.

Methodology and sources
Wheel interchange depends on more than bolt pattern. Where data is available, this site compares recorded OEM values:
- Bolt pattern / PCD
- Center bore direction (donor wheel bore must not be smaller than the hub)
- Wheel diameter, width, and offset against known OEM ranges
- Lug thread / hardware differences (vehicle-side hardware)
A normal wheel spacer does not change bolt pattern. Hub rings cannot enlarge a wheel bore that is smaller than the hub. Brake clearance and tire package fitment still require vehicle-specific checks when not confirmed in the dataset.
